President’s Welcome

Greetings!

Welcome to the website of the Phi Kappa Zeta Chapter! We are thrilled that you have chosen to explore our chapter and organization. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, a beacon of excellence, was established at Howard University on January 16, 1920. For over 103 years, we have been making a positive impact, a testament to our enduring legacy. Our organization, rooted in the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, has flourished under the visionary leadership of the Five Pearls: Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Pearl Anna Neal, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, and Fannie Pettie Watts. These women have played pivotal roles in shaping our chapter and attracting over 100,000 diverse women from various professions and locations worldwide.

The Phi Kappa Zeta Chapter was founded by eight remarkable women who identified a need in the Prince William County (PWC) community. Our chapter consists of professional women from different backgrounds and age groups. Since December 5, 2007, we have served the PWC community through partnerships and volunteer service. We have collaborated with several organizations to make a difference in our community, including 1. Potomac Place, a local elder care facility, we help the facility with programs and events. 2. March of Dimes, where we donate thousands of dollars annually to March for Babies. 3. Prince William Literacy Volunteers of America, to which we raise funds yearly to donate. 4. Action in the Community Through Service (ACTS), where we partner to donate much-needed items for people experiencing homelessness; we have adopted an elementary school in PWC to provide services in helping the educators. Lastly, we give out $10,000 annually to deserving high school young ladies in PWC through our Scholarship Fund.

At the Phi Kappa Zeta Chapter, we are proud to sponsor four auxiliary groups, each designed to foster a sense of belonging and service. Amicae, a service-oriented group, welcomes non-Greek-letter organization members. Archonettes, a group of high school-aged young ladies, provides a platform for personal growth and community service. Amicettes, a group of girls aged 9 to 13, encourages leadership and service at a young age. Pearlettes, a group for girls under nine, instills the values of our organization from an early age. We believe in the power of inclusivity and diversity, and these groups reflect our commitment to these principles.

We are deeply grateful for your interest in the Phi Kappa Zeta Chapter and our activities. We hope you find our website informative and engaging, and we look forward to keeping you updated with our latest initiatives.
